As the Head of IT, he/she will play a crucial role in advancing our technological capabilities to better serve our mission. He/she will be responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, management, infrastructure and execution of all IT functions within the organization and to be responsible for job allocation, coaching, supervision, training, and development of team members. This includes ensuring seamless technology operations, cybersecurity, data protection, and innovation to enhance organizational efficiency and program delivery.
Strategic Leadership & IT Governance
- Develop and implement an IT strategy, aligning technology with the organization's goals and objectives;
- Stay abreast of upcoming system solutions, trends and new technology available in the market in formulating IT strategies to advise the management and Information Technology Committee on IT investments and digital transformation;
- Oversee IT policies, compliance and best practice for data security and risk management.
IT Infrastructure & System Management
- Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and optimization of all IT systems and infrastructure;
- Ensure robust data security and privacy protocols are in place and adhered to;
- Manage enterprise software (ERP, CRM, HRIS, DMS) and optimize IT workflows for efficiency;
- Lead digital transformation initiatives e.g. artificial intelligence, cloud migration, automation, remote work tools.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to safeguard sensitive data and donor information;
- Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks related to IT and cyber security, as well as software and hardware management;
- Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and staff training on IT security best practices.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality services;
- Train, advice and support staff on IT systems, tools, and digital literacy.
Project Management & User Support
- Implement and manage IT solutions for cost-effective service operations;
- Support project with technology for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting;
- Offer training and support to users for new projects and technologies;
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and technical teams.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage IT budgets and expenses to evaluate technological performance, ensuring cost-effective solutions;
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities such as proposal writing, tendering, vendor sourcing to ensure projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budget;
- Liaise and negotiate with vendors, manage agreements and oversee IT process;
- Collaborate with other departments/users for system enhancements and development, use stakeholders' feedback for continuous improvement.
