Responsibilities
Assess the creditworthiness of both new and existing clients by analysing financial data, credit reports, and KYC documentation
Set and manage credit limits for customers in line with company policies and market conditions
Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and implement effective collection strategies
Communicate with customers across various regions to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans as needed
Maintain detailed records of credit control activities, including payment histories and communications, utilising our financial software
Collaborate with sales and shipping teams to resolve any discrepancies
Prepare regular reports on account status, outstanding debts, and credit limits for management review
Continuously evaluate and adjust risk assessments in response to changing market conditions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related subject
Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role, preferably in an international trading environment
Strong understanding of credit control processes and financial principles
Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft PowerPoint, and especially Excel
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across different cultural contexts
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
