Fabric R&D Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and internationally connected apparel group known for its strong collaboration across Design, Product Development, Sales, Production, and ESG teams. The company is committed to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high‑quality materials that elevate product performance and aesthetics.

Based in Hong Kong, you will take the lead in researching, sourcing, and developing new fabrics across all categories, working closely with mills, suppliers, and internal cross‑functional partners. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about textile innovation, sustainable materials, and translating trend insights into commercially viable fabrics.

A typical day will include the following:

* Researching and analysing global fiber/fabric trends to provide up‑to‑date textile insights.
* Developing innovative fabrics, trims, and sustainable materials aligned with customer price points.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with mills and attending trade shows to identify new technologies.
* Overseeing fabric development from concept to production, ensuring standards for durability, comfort, finish, and performance are met.
* Conducting fabric testing and evaluations to validate performance and meet production timelines.
* Managing a well‑organized fabric library with all testing records and documentation.
* Collaborating closely with Design, PD, Sales, Production, Quality, Compliance, and ESG teams to deliver a competitive fabric offering.
* Driving sustainable and responsible material solutions that balance cost and performance, supporting both value and fashion categories.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

* Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Technology, Fashion, or related discipline.
* 8+ years of relevant experience in fabric development or textile R&D.
* Strong knowledge of fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, and testing.
* Strong collaboration skills with both internal teams and external partners (mills, suppliers, labs).
