Full Time
Major Duties:
(a)To plan and perform database design, capacity planning, version upgrades, patch management and configuration changes in accordance with established change management procedures;
(b)To establish, implement and enforce standards and best practices for database administration and container platform management, with strong emphasis on security hardening and access control; and
(c)To design, implement and periodically test high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for database and container platform environments.

Requirements:
(a)A recognised degree in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience;
(b)Experience in project management is highly preferred;
(c)Applicants with excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

(i)On-premises OpenShift / OKD container platforms, including cluster management, operator deployment, network and storage provisioning, and security policy enforcement;

(ii)Oracle Database environments, including Real Application Clusters (RAC), RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard configuration, and performance tuning;

(iii)PostgreSQL database environments, including replication, high-availability configuration, backup and recovery, and query performance optimisation;

(iv)Migrating existing database workloads to PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, data validation and post-migration performance optimisation; and

(v)Automation scripting to support infrastructure operations, including monitoring, alerting, scheduled maintenance tasks, and operational reporting.
(d)Good supervisory skills, interpersonal skills and be a good team player; and
(e)Proficiency in English and Chinese.

Notes:
(1)The post is at the rank of “Senior Officer”.
(2)Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Assistant Systems Manager, at the rank of “Officer”.
(3)Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(4)Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
