Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers in China (especially Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and inland provinces) and Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and surrounding industrial zones)
Support new product development by communicating with certified suppliers
Negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times, and quality clauses
Monitor and mitigate risks including currency fluctuation, raw material price changes, geopolitical issues, labour shortages, and IP protection
Manage end-to-end outsourcing projects from sample development through mass production, shipment, and after-sales support
Maintain accurate supplier databases, pricing history, and performance scorecards in our system
Ensure suppliers comply with our quality standards, social compliance, environmental requirements (REACH/Bluesign), and export documentation
Conduct supplier audits, factory visits, and capability assessments on a regular basis
Coordinate with internal teams (R&D, Quality, Logistics, Finance) and external third-party inspection companies (SGS, Intertek, etc.)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of hands-on sourcing/outsourcing experience specifically with Chinese and Vietnamese suppliers
Previous employment with trading companies, manufacturers, or buying offices in Hong Kong/China/Vietnam is highly preferred
Fluent in English (business level – written & spoken)
Native or near-native Mandarin Chinese (simplified characters) – must be able to read technical drawings and negotiate directly in Mandarin
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with Chinese and Vietnamese suppliers
Excellent understanding of China’s export regulations, VAT refund policies, and Vietnam’s investment incentives
Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and sourcing tools
Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability when working with Chinese and Vietnamese business culture
Valid passport and willingness to travel regularly
No criminal record and clean employment history
